+ Life | Blog Olympics

Blog Olympics
Wow! My spontaneous reaction to my winning gold in the recent event. I came out tops?! Cool!

While I glee with excitment, the downside of it is the slow loading of my site and blog surfers will have to wait. That is if they are willing to wait. The wait will seem like forever for non broadband users. My apology.

I am compensating my lack of written articulation for describing stuff, with picture. Like the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. That is very helpful in my case, so I have lesser instances to describe stuff.

When it did come to that, I know many people had to read some sentences again in order to grasp what I am trying to convey. That way, I am doing a favour to both the bloggers and me. I do not want to have to an induced aneurysm from thinking too hard.

Anyway it looks better that way. It makes the page looks interesting, yes... never mind the content. I have nothing special, serious or profound to convey most times, anyway.

That said, a medal should be awarded to anyone who has the patience to wait by the PC while my blog loads. And read something trivial or so yesterday. I really appreciate it.

I am not beating myself up silly. It is just the way I like my blog to look. My fading memory of the many things I love from childhood is blurrer everyday with no pictures to help me remember.

I want to remember because it makes me happy. I know not to dwell in the past too long and get carried away. That is not the real world anymore. I know.

Pictures revive that feeling I felt then tremendously. It works for me. So just bare with the wait while my blog loads. Give yourself a medal when you actually see the word "Done" at the bottom of your brower when you come to visit.

Alright now! I will now tabulate all the events I participated and the results I get in this post and renew it time and again whenever I get my results. Here so far, with latest at the top:

  • Event #3 How many pictures are on your blog? 51 pictures
  • Result #3
  • Event #2 How Slow Do You Go? 110.84 sec
  • Result #2
  • Event #1 What a champion blog is made of? 14%
  • Result #1 Missed the medal!!!

Event #1 would have been quite confusing for my blog as it has branches from the MainPage, but I went through the exercise anyway with below results:

percentage similar to http://whiskeytalking.blogspot.com/

http://muscleicon.blogspot.com/ is 14%
http://mi-family.blogspot.com/ is 12%

http://mi-photography.blogspot.com/
is 12%
http://mi-tours.blogspot.com/
is 11%
http://mi-escapade.blogspot.com/
is 2%

Guess I need lots and lots of practice... Sigh. Anyway I am forging ahead with the other events coming-up soon, so look out for me!

  • Hello All,

    Thanks for the congratulatory messages.

Barbara | Your incredible idea of Blog Olympics has got me all fired up for the next event. Can't wait!

No longer a spectator. I'm now going for gold! Bring it on!

Friday's Child | Congratulations to you. You're a seasoned Olympian I see. I will have to learn some tips from you for my quest for gold. I am all charged-up!

Carol | Glad you do not have trouble with my page loading so slowly.

I guess bloggers in the US and Canada will not have too much a slow connection since the server is there. It is kind of slower here across the globe, even with broadband. A killer for those with 56K dial-ups.

All silver so far...hmmm Congratulations! Yes, you have a good consistent record. I will be observing you to secretly get all the tips I need to win more gold!

No, I'm kidding. All good in the name of sportsmanship... err... blogomanship?

Anyway ladies, the weekend is near, have yourselves a great one with family!
